Guest guest
Message: 23 Date: Mon, 10 Jun 2002 21:42:05 EDT From: Traceygrubbs@... Subject: Re: Digest Number 777 , Thanks for the info. The reason I was asking is because the last blood work done the nurse stated her white blood cell count was lower but did not suggest a follow up. Does this not call for follow up work? Tracey Tracey, Did the nurse say low, or lower? If it was just lower than a previous draw, but still in normal range it wouldn't indicate a problem. Lab values do vary depending on what's going on within us. Was she ill during the initial lab draw? If so, could it have been that her white count was high at that time? If so, that would be a normal response. Our white counts can/should raise above the " normal " values when were are fighting any infection/illness. That would make the fact that it's now " lower " a good thing! Don't know, just trying to think of what her comment might have meant. I know medical personnel don't always make things clear. The only reason I can think that your daughter would need follow up r/t the lab is if her white count was low to start with, and is now lower. Otherwise, if she's staying in the normal range I wouldn't give it anymore thought. :-) Take care,
Guest guest
, 's white blood cell count was never before mentioned to me prior to this last blood draw. She has not suffered any infections except for the Df since all this started. However, I am going to give the nurse a call tomorrow to see what excatly " low " means and then question her why... should have done this in the first place. Thanks for all the info Tracey
Guest guest
Just one tip. . .if you don't already do this. . . every time she has any medical testing done. . .ALWAYS request a copy for yourself. It is unbelieveable the things that are on there that they don't tell you becasue they don't think it's significant. . .but to a sleuthing Mom may really provide a lot of clues!--D --- Traceygrubbs@... wrote: > , > 's white blood cell count was never before > mentioned to me prior to > this last blood draw. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
You will find that you will have your teachers who don't know what to do and the ones that are great. When my son was 14 months old I put him in a Mother's Day Out Program one day a week,(imagine wanting one day to myself as a stay at home mom and a mother to an apraxia child at that, didn't know he had it then.)ANyway the same things happened with my son as yours and I gave them all the " helpful information " that they requested.Which according to them didn't work.So I finally took him out over the spring break since I was getting called to pick him up and not only did I not get my time away but I was wasting my money. So I took him out for six months and with speech therapy in there I enrolled him in a different program where he did well. Was it the combination of speech and a different environment I don't no but I do know that every place or every person cannot handle my son. I am not saying switch him but try it out.Sometimes it is the people that work with our children who are wrong and not our child.Good LUck!!! Gretchen mother to who is 7. Guest guest
Hey everyone, Still busy in politics thought I would check-in. The conversation in regards to friends who act jealously when you loose weight brings up a question I have for those of you who have lost weight that weren't ever big but maybe 10-20lbs over where they should be. I lost about 20lbs I carried around for about a year or so because of a medication I was on. When I went off the meds it was ok not easy but easier to get rid of the 20....when people comment on it to me it almost hurts in away, I know they are trying to encourage me, but its like a sad realization that yeah I did let my weight get a bit out of control. I feel very bitter about it and I don't know why since its now in the past and I'm hovering in the 140s which is ok, since I have a ton of muscle and am medium build and 5'4. Sure I'd like to get about 10 more pounds off but am not totally unhappy with where I am. I guess I'm really unhappy with where I was----still. Is that really odd? Or has anyone else felt that way post weight loss? My schedule has been really hectic with conferences and such and there is no time to do the hotel workouts getting up at 6am and going to bed at 11 after an entire day of meetings. I try to work out twice a day when I do workout to make up for it. I still average 3-5 days a week but not the frequency and intensity that I want. <sigh> , to answer your question ....Gymmie and I can both attest to the fact that the sweat on the Taebo videos is 100% genuine! We've both been in a couple and the lights combined with the workout and the fact that you are pushing yourself extra hard because of the cameras leaves you drenched. Plus, I have read that you start sweating sooner in the workout if you are more fit. I guess your body has a clue whats going on and starts off the cooling mechanisms early...who knows. Hope everyone is well. a -- _______________________________________________ Search for businesses by name, location, or phone number. -Lycos Yellow Pages http://r.lycos.com/r/yp_emailfooter/http://yellowpages.lycos.com/default.asp?SRC\ =lycos10
