YOU SAID IT WAS DROPPING FROM A HIGH OF 40 AND IT IS NOW 42 WHICH MEANS IT HAS GONE UP AND THAT. PLEASE EXPLAIN..... THANKS KUDOS ON YOUR PROGRESS. Guest guest
Perhaps I wasn't clear although I thought I was. In the the early 90's (during my earlies 30's) I could care less about diet, eating the classic western horrible diet. I have a record of my chloesterol from 1994 which shows high total cholesterol (204 if I recall) but my HDL (the good Cholesterol) was 40. Soon after (which coincides with my first kid being born) I decided to get healthier which included eating better and excercising (not CRON) and also going to very low fat diet (the low/non fat belief then). I started CRON May of 2001. My HDL's have dropped every year to about 32-34 range which is below the recommended HDL level. After my FEB 2002 chelesterol checkup I started adding nuts to my diet and my FEB 2003 cholesterol checkup shows a 42 HDL, the highest ever. My point is twofold: my good HDL has dropped every year except for this year and HDL is the good cholesterol and what you want. Alot of doctors really don't care about total cholesterol by care about the LDL:HDL ratio, thus the higher the HDL the better. > The HDL is what I am most happy about as that > > has been dropping every year from a high in 1994 of 40 (when I was > 50 > > lbs heavier and eating burgers andfries every day for lunch).
