prunes and plums

I got to thinking about prunes and their very high nutruitive and

anti-oxidant properties. Since prunes are simply dried plums, does anyone

know why plums shouldn't also be in that category? Why is the dried version

healthier?

Hello all,

Long time no post but I thought to add my 2 euros worth now.

Weren't Wolfberries the alltime tops in ORACs? I remember them being a

whopping 25,000 units for the same amount of weight as prunes. They are

found in Chinese stores or readily available over the net. Delicious and not

too sweet.

Talking about too sweet, I wash the raisens and prunes to get the sweetness

(read insulin spike) down.

best and thanks for a great list

MM

I agree, Wolfberries are nice. Their ORAC values are generally considered to

be quite high, although there appear to be some variations in results from

different testers.

How does washing bring down the sweetness and insulin spike caused by prunes

and raisins?

Thanks
