Guest guest
I rarely visit the " natural foods store " , because it involves a drive to another town, but on this last visit, i made a couple worthwhile discoveries: This store had 3 varieties of kale, none of which closely resembled the kale in the grocery store. One variety looked to me more like watercress-type leaves. I had given up eating kale, despite the health benefits, because the thick, rough leaves did not soften enough or separate enough to work well for my digestion. The varieties from the natural foods place all cooked well under moderate steaming, tasted great, and did not cause me any constipation or cramping. I am definitely looking forward to adding these varieties to my diet. I also found a tea, " Numi Red Mellow Bush Herbal Teasan " . This is the herb " rooibos " . The box says " with an antioxidant level comparable to green tea " . Has mild straw-vanilla-ish flavor that is not sweet-cloying like some of the new- age novelty concoctions or on the other hand, far out austere. In other words, it tastes great, without compromise. This tea is also no-caffeine, not " decaf " - which still wires me with its remaining small % of remaining caffeine, and the box's claim that it doesn't become bitter is true. Good stuff! ( You may find this under other brand names of course.) Regards, Hue
