Thoracic convexity seems to start young. Inviting gravity's assistance in bending you over double doesn't seem sensible, for a creature that's not yet properly adapted to its vertical posture. As well as its effect on the organs of oxygen, a permanently-crunched rib cage affects most of your other " vital organs " as well - they get squeezed in the cage that was supposed to protect them. Apart from bad postural habits, the cumulative effect of short muscles between the ribs appears to be implicated. To address that I would recommend back arches - and deep breathing.
