Dear Carol in SE Michigan,

I am glad you asked those questions as I

too have them of Dr. Lenke. Being in a state of denial when I saw him

precluded any intelligent questions on my part. Although my surgery will

be primarily for further scoliosis and degenerative spine from L2 down, and not

for flatback, Dr. Lenke did say that patients were “gotten up” by

the day after surgery. I still am trying to decide who to go to for a

second opinion when I feel so very comfortable with Dr. Lenke. Thank you

for asking good questions. I hope someone out there can answer them.
