Guest guest
Francesca, re your comment on getting all nutrients through food. I, too, try to get all my nutrients through food. My supplemented lab chow referred to lab animals...not me! But, Walford would be first to say that dwidp doesn't cover the entire spectrum. To some extent we're guessing. I suppose that makes it more fun. T. Colin , in promoting a vegan diet as a result of his involvement with the China studies, suggests going for maximum variety of colors, including black and white, since the the colors are composed of phytochemicals. And many of the phytochemicals are beneficial...but we don't know for sure which ones are, and which ones are not. Supplements won't help that much, but a complete diet per dwidp, plus an accent on color in one's food, and appropriate calorie restriction and exercise are the basics. Then supplements. You could make a good case that they aren't needed at all, if you follow the practice above. I do, however, use a wide variety of supplements in addition to my complete diet. They're secondary. Diet comes first. Nice talking with you. Helps me to keep myself pointed in the right direction. Today is a big day. Colleen used dwidp and worked out her day for the first time. Did it right. I think she enjoyed it. Her normal practice wasn't too far off. I'm optimistic. Nite, now. Ed >
