Many (many) years ago, I was recovering from rheumatic fever on my Aunt's

farm near Dixon, California. There wasn't much meat available, there was a

lot of fruit, milk from grass-fed (economics) cows, and lots and lots of

nuts. I was reading and eating nuts several hours a day. I played horshoes

for a couple of hours, and occasionally snuck off and chinned myself

(strictly forbidden...they told me I could die if I overexerted).

I have almost no trace of heart damage...

Was it the nutskins? The sneaking exercise? The fact that it was just

after WW 2, and the only milk (and meat) available were grazed not gorged?

I took Perl's longevity test. Even though I am overweight (although I am

more than 20% under set point for calories). To my

suprise, my unhealthy but long-lived aunts gave me a boost, and the test

says I'm looking at a possible 97 - without the cron effect - ?
