Guest guest
If there is a faq on this somewhere that I've missed, please point me to it. If not, I think it warrants discussion. The bane of my nutritional endeavors has been figuring out how to space my mineral intake for proper absorption. Calcium and iron interfere with each other. Calcium and magnesium can block each other as well. Zinc blocks copper, although many supplements just compensate by including extra copper as well. The more I look into it, the more different minerals seem to block each other's absorption so, I presume, mostly just one of the other is usuable by the body when consumed together, or, perhaps, just lower levels of each. I keep throwing up my hands in frustration. I try, at least, to separate my main calcium sources from my main iron sources by a couple hours. Then again, I have no idea how much time we need to leave between eating nutrients that block each other. Either way, other than that, I've been mostly ignoring the issue. If I'm going to do this right, however, I need to address my mineral consumption. So, do you puzzle over this? Ignore it? Have you already sorted through it and now know how to properly consume and absorb your minerals? Enlightenment or at least discussion and joint research efforts would be appreciated.
