I eat about the Walford level, but I've wondered about Sherm's curve which I don't believe at all, because it gets him up to 180 gms at 1200 kcal intake, or something like that. I could never validate that high a number. I do <72gms at 1800 kcal just fine. I've wandered thru the Modern Nutrition and I don't see anything that would encourage me to eat more than my usual 56gms (for weight control). Definitely not a precise science.

I'd be interested in any articles that show a curve for P intake versus calories. (other than Sears).

The protein question is up in the air. Walford says to up your intake ofprotein if you're feeling weak. Many studies point to higher protein=longer life. OTOH the Okinawans don't especially eat a lot of protein (I'msure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). So experiment and see whichdiet you feel the best on. I do eat a bit more protein than Walfordrecommends.
