Guest guest
Hello, It has been awhile since I have posted and want to check in and say hello since Francesca is always urging us lurkers to speak up. I have been lurking on this board for I think almost two years now. I LOVE this board and want to thank all of you for all the wonderful information that you provide! I look forward to reading it every morning! I have been faithfully " practicing " for most of the past couple of years, except for about a month where I had some physical struggles and decided to do the ON ad-lib thing. Anyway, I am feeling much better and back to my usual level of CR, and oddly enough, that break caused me to drop about 5 pounds lower than my lowest weight had previously been. I guess the break broke through my plateau! Besides giving a brief update I do have a request for some advice. How have some of you dealt with social pressures and explaining CR? I have two situations. First, my boyfriend, says he sometimes " worries " that I don't eat enough. I have tried to explain CR to him, but he says he still worries and wants to make sure I am " eating enough " . He then throws out words like " anorexia " which makes it clear he does not understand. I cannot get him to read the book, so do any of you have other suggestions about how to educate him about CR? On the other end, I am very worried about my best friend! She is beautiful and intelligent and a very strong person, but she is gaining more and more weight and unfortunately carries it in her middle – indicative that she is at risk for heart disease. I want to talk to her about it, and maybe even discuss CR with her, but am not sure how she will react. I don't want her to get upset. I was thinking that maybe I should put together a Power Point presentation on CRON and get all my friends together and make them sit through it! j/k Well if you have any tips on friends and family and CRON I would love to hear it! Thanks again to all of you on this board for everything you do. Best wishes, Amy
