I count P, C (after subtracting fiber), and F grams. The Soehnle Diet-Health Computer Scale allows me to make the calculations easily. Accurate measurement of these nutrients makes it much easier to adjust the ratios until you reach a satisfactory outcome. What works for you is more important than following a particular diet. http://www.diabetesnet.com/ishop/product_info.php?cPath=28 & products_id=
Guest guest
, thank you for this fine post. Re: milk. My Father was allergic to milk, but not cream. I mean violent, anaphalactic shock kind of allergic. Recently, for a different reason, I stopped using milk for a few days (or so I intended) and discovered that a long-standing pain in my hip muscle diminished. I was surprised, but remembered that it had spontaneously disappeared a few times in the past. I have left out the milk since that time. Now, having read your post, I will eliminate the soy cheeses that use casein. Perhaps the pain will disappear completely. I, too, have have experienced sinus and nasal congestion for as long as I can remember. In my thirties I was using " Sleep-eze" a product that was actually a histamine blocker. I slept well, because I could breathe freely. I've had to stop all topical and systemic decongestants since then. I do seem to be breathing more freely, now. Just had some casein for breakfast, though. Breathing is good. Thanks. My entire family tested as having an IgG allergic reaction to milk – our strongest reaction. This is not lactose-intolerance, we are allergic to proteins in the milk. We all feel better now that we don’t use it. Many people have this mild form of food allergy to milk and don’t know it. Part of the point of CRON is reducing inflammation, so it seems especially counterproductive to eat foods that you have an allergy to! The protein that most people are allergic to is casein. It often causes sinus congestion. I became aware of this 10 years ago when my son had his tonsils out. He was eating all kinds of dairy stuff to soothe his throat and was totally uncomfortable because of congestion. I talked to the nurse about it and she said to cut out the dairy. I did and he cleared up within a day. Think Elmer’s glue and you will think twice about milk.
