Jeri Update - Not such good news

Hello everyone,

After several days of great improvement we have another setback.

Jeri went back into surgery this afternoon. It appears she has an

infection and they are going into the operating room to clean it up

this afternoon. Her wound had been oozing normally until yesterday and

then it really cranked up. She had some chills and sweats after PT on

Thursday, which may have been the start of it.

Enough bad news for now... She had been adding about 50 ft to her

walks every day since my last update, and was finally able to process

food fairly comfortably.

I don't know for sure what will be next, but I'm guessing several more

days in the hospital before rehab.

Jeff, I haven't posted yet, but have been following the details about Jeri's surgery. I'm sorry to hear that she is going through this and hope they'll get it under control quickly so she can get home again and get back to her getting better. She sounds like someone that bounces back with a lot of determination and that is at least half the battle.

Though Jeri doesn't know me, please tell her I said to hang in there - it does get better, and you take care of yourself too.
