Some Sugar is a GOOD Thing

Hi Dixie,

I'm a scientist also and I prefer to call things what they are. I'm not sure what a "health food" is other than a euphemism. Perhaps we could think in terms of limiting sugar(sucrose) rather than discarding it as a source of energy. Put sugar in a cookie with hydrogenated fat - bad. Use sugar to burn excess body fat - maybe good. Probably a lot more realistic than cheetos preventing breast cancer. You can't make chocolate without sugar. Corn syrup is a definite no-no to me (not a natural product). Also as a replacement for salt flavoring, I much prefer sugar. I'm not talking a lot of calories here.

Regards.

Science is my friend. Recent scientific discoveries have brought to light the health benefits of chocolate, wine and coffee. So yesterday I’m driving in my car fantasizing that, if we live long enough, scientists may yet discover that Snickers promote longevity. Or Cheetos prevent breast cancer. Or [insert your favorite junk food here] actually reverse the aging process! Imagine my delight when I read the posts about sugar’s better side. Well, I could’ve told ya that sugar gives you a mood boost, followed by a mood bust. But, alas, I don’t think it can be called health food no matter how you cook it.Sweet dreams...
