Hi Jane, I liked Dr Akbarnia.. Although, I really don't have anyone with this caliber of experience to compare him to. He is recommending Dr supervised therapy at a spine center. Surgery is likely within the next year or two. More tests will be required. As for my condition - I'm 21 years post op (Herrington Rods), have DDD, herniated disc's, etc - I have gotten pretty limited in what I can do without making some adjustments... I hope this helps!
