There are formulations of multi-vitamins that are "food-based". Whole Foods sells one. Many of the major manufacturers make one formulation like this. These are more like "green" supplements. The "experts" always point out that the B-12 or Beta Carotene in the more manufactured and processed vitamins is just the same as it is in the "food-based" vitamins. There is no advantage there. However, I buy these because of the other stuff that is in them beyond the standard vitamin list.
