I reckon the first sentence of the quoted article would make most people involved in the area cringe :-| Resistance training is /not/ " better known as lifting weights " . It is a whole different subject. Lifting weights typically requires a superhuman ability to relax muscles completely and instantly - if you want to avoid eccentric contractions. By contrast, resistance training *never* involves eccentric contractions. It uses a completely different set of exercises - none of which involve lifting weights.
