Guest guest
I saw Dr. Bridwell a couple of years ago when my revision surgeon retired and I didn't like the docs that took his place. I didn't have to wait long for an appointment and the visit didn't take that much time, at least in my situation. I saw him for numbness and nerve pain in my right leg as a result of nerve damage at L5-S1. They took an xray and he was concerned about arachnoiditis. It was not and he explained that I had a lot of scar tissue and that was contributing to the problem. He is a very intelligent doctor and his staff is the best. I live in Kansas City so it was just a four hour drive across the state. My husband and I agree that if I have any further spine problems we will go back to him. He is the best. I have taken neurontin in the past for nerve pain. It didn't help me and just made me tired and loopy. However, I know that it realy does help some people. There is also a new drug, Lyrica, that is supposed to work like neurontin but without the side effects. I have not tried it. The numbness seems to have reached a plateau, and the nerve pain is now intermittant. I see a pain doc and take a hydracodone if the stabbing pain is unbearable. I am fortunate that the stabbing pains are much less frequent so I don't need to take pain meds that often. Sending good thoughts for your appointment with Dr. B. I think you will be very pleased.
