Guest guest
Warren: what wise advice! Yes one needn't go to great lengths to achieve the goal of being healthier. I just took a few days airline trip and with a little care made it as " healthy " a trip as possible. I packed a snack to eat on the plane going : fruit and some baked chicken. Ordered non-sugared juices for my drink served on the plane and ate the peanuts only after wiping off as much sugar and salt from them as I could. On the return trip I ordered a salad made up fresh at an airport Subway concession food bar (lettuce, tomato, green peppers, a few black olives, a small amt of shredded cheddar cheese for flavor, and a wine vinigraitte dressing) and again took fruit along to supplement. I was able to bypass the many temptations of Airport foodcourts, Ben a & Jerry's concessions etc that tempt one during travel. Guest guest
What Francesca isn't telling, but I will (with her permission) is that her recent airplane trip was the result of some very sad news. Her last surviving brother, who had been a neuro-surgeon in life, passed away last week in Ohio. He'd been ill for several years, and is survived by his wife, four grown children (including 3 doctors and a successful business woman) and his sister (our Francesca.) While Francesca is obviously keeping her chin up, most of us can imagine what it means to lose a brother. She wouldn't have mentioned it to the group, but I thought some of you would like to send her your good wishes. Guest guest
Hello Suz, Francesca, and CR ALL: Wow, I didn't know the details of Francesca's particular personal situation until you mentioned them below. I'm so glad of her willingness to share this way, even if there is pain and regret involved, as there was here. Such revelations make all of us on this List into one giant Family. An untimely or early death (even if a painless one for the demised) is a difficult situation. My feelings of compassion and empathy extend outward to all affected. For each of us, our own personal rendezvous approaches. Disasters in my own family help prepare me, and help motivate me to improve my own life. Every day we can try to live better, to give and receive as much happiness and joy right now as we possibly can. We can do it today, and we can do it now, and we can do it together. Tomorrow comes very fast. -- Warren -----Original Message----- From: Suzanne Cart [mailto:massuz@...] Sent: Wednesday, July 30, 2003 1:23 PM Subject: Re: [ ] A Little of this ... A Little of that ...
