Guest guest
Excellent point, Francesca. Also, I wonder if some cronies obsess overly about exact nutritional content of food, recipes, and variety. I find that two meals only, as healthy as I can make them
Guest guest
Sorry---my laptop sends at will. I find two meals, as healthy as possible, and as little thought about food as practical, within pretty strict calorie limits, works very well. It helps that I do not like to cook very much! Guest guest
Being thin does not always correlate with the practise of CR. I was very thin almost all of my adult life, could eat anything I wanted, as much as I wanted, and never gained weight. I know just as many thin people who died young as lived long. In fact, thinness is only a usual side effect of CR, not the aim. The aim is to cut calories while eating optimally in terms of nutrition. Some on this regimen don't lose that much weight, although most do - but being thin is not the aim.. I know I'm on CR because of my bloodwork and my increased resistance to colds and illness as compared to my previous resistance pre-CR (when I was skin and bones you might say). Being thin is not a marker. Also I would guess that genes have more to do with long life than being thin. In fact, they're presently searching for a " longevity gene " . on 8/7/2003 7:22 AM, Carol, getting conscious at 12steplists@... wrote: > First, she was always very thin -- and I'm pretty sure a vegetarian -- > so I'm quite sure she practiced CR, unconciousness if not consciously. Guest guest
From Peg: I try to delay my first meal until about 10 (age 70 and obviously retired), and the second is about 6. I can get away with their being pretty substantial, I think because in between the kitchen is closed for me. Just seems to work.
