Guest guest
I suspected that the guy had some genetic predisposition that triggered his reaction to GHB. I wondered this b/c there's too many others that have reported good things about GHB. Although the program suggested otherwise, this guy's reaction may be rare. TV programs do sensationalize & mislead for the buck... and they look for the rare story too. Thanks for your opinion Jo. johastings@... wrote: >A yi yi, I think the story (not that I saw it) was overblown. Possibly by a >lot, depending. I know numerous people who occasionally take it. Guest guest
Jo: I would hate to see you lump coffee and sugar in the same bag as nicotine (or some other harmful addictive substance). There's a big difference. AFAWK coffee has never been proven to be harmful and in moderate doses, we've had many a discussion that coffee may even be helpful for some diseases such as Parkinson's. I submit that there's a big difference between being addicted to a few cups of coffee a day and being addicted to cigarettes, one of the most disease causing substances in existence. Sugar in small quantities is also probably harmless and Walford even admits to an occasional sugared ice-cream habit. I might agree that the story on GHB was overblown if I hadn't seen with my own eyes the alarming e-mail from the CRONIE regularly taking it. on 7/1/2003 4:08 AM, johastings@... at johastings@... wrote: > Before I get a lot of hate mail, I'll say that taking anything that you > consider to be a drug or unnecessary part of diet (coffee, nicotine, refine > sugar, whatever) very regularly or as a crutch is bad. Guest guest
In a strange irony " Nornicotine " one of the products of nicotine being absorbed by our body appears like it may be protective for Alzheimer's... now maybe smoking just kills you before you get old enough to have Alzheimer's :-) whatever, life is too complex for simple answers. http://ia.clickondetroit.com/health/2277070/detail.html I've seen conflicting research about coffee but since I started roasting my own I've learned that there are so many variables I'm sure the studies didn't control for a small fraction of them (bean type, roast time and temp, etc etc). FWIW, I'm not sure that sugar is good for anything. Have a good 4th..
