But he does have a point a few will go on a semi-Cron diet and not know what they are doing and hurt themselves. positive dennis
Guest guest
Since I am vegan and practice CR, I obviously have to respond to this. It is unfortunate that this person has not done more research before writing their post. I know there are a large number of vegans on this board, and if I recall correctly, Walford is vegan as well. Clearly veganism and CR can go hand in hand. Any vegan who is truly interested in learning more about CR should be able to come to that conclusion. I know in the book, and I believe in the files on this site, it states that it is very difficult to practice CR if you are vegetarian or vegan - but it does not say impossible. For me veganism AND CR are a moral and ethical belief and I believe I can have both without sacrificing the other. Just my two cents FWIW... Guest guest
Yes, I apologize for my laziness in using CR, of course I mean CRON, and if I didn't I probably wouldn't be on this forum. Also as a vegan practicing CRON, if it was just CR, I would not have enough strength to type this message. As for why people practice CRON, I assume we all have different reasons. For most it is the desire to live past 100, pure and simple. Of course this is also my reason for following a CRON way of life, but beyond that, FOR ME, there are aspects of the program that I truly believe have strong virtues. For example, in consuming fewer calories, thus quantity of food, it could be argued that individuals following CRON are using less environmental resources. Also, I believe we have a moral obligation to ourselves to take care of our bodies and to live the healthiest life possible. I responded to the original post because I felt as a vegan, and a practicing CRONie, and an admittedly habitual lurker, that I should add in my two cents. Also, by no means did I want this to turn into a defense of my beliefs, but your post made me feel compelled to do so. I agree it is time to let this thread die...
