BBC on New Appetite Suppressant - FYI

Hi Guys

Glad to see this is coming out in the news again. I posted on it hear last August. I would have liked to have learned that they are further along bringing this to market. Unfortunately, the drug also seems to give us a sense of well being and that will make it difficult to bring to market--legally. It seems that a product for weight loss is OK with the authorities, but one that makes us feel good-------I don't think they will go for that. But I have my fingers crossed!

Bushman/The Gods Must Be Crazy

I keep hoping for miracles for weight loss.  Thirty years ago it was announced that within two years they would have a product out that would allow us to eat all we wanted and the fat would just slide through us!  I waited--a healthful product never happened. Hey, I am still waiting, it has only been thirty years. 

Now there was another announcement on TV a couple of weeks ago and I wonder if any of you have heard about it.  If it really may work as they say, I am willing to wait another thirty years to get thin!  Well, at least two years.

For those of you who have seen the wonderful movie, The Gods Must Be Crazy, you can picture the little Bushman, AKA Sandmen, of the Kalahari Desert.  They were very thin, very energetic people who live on almost nothing.  The announcement on TV was that there is a plant these people eat to give them the ability to run long distances (probably in search of food) with energy and no hunger.  The TV showed a dried up cactus type shrub. 

There are many people interested in this and there is are several groups that are trying to see that the Bushman benefit from it all.  Pfizer, the drug company is involved in this. I was ready to buy stock in the company and could not believe their stock has actually gone down since this miraculous announcement.  It seems such an easy drug to work with and get to market.  It has been used for probably hundreds of years. Yet, I have heard nothing further on it and it has been at least two months since the announcement! 

Has anyone else heard of this?  I am willing to wait for a miracle.  Of course with the snail's pace of science, maybe I had better become a CRon so that I can live long enough to actually see some of the miracles they talk about.
