Guest guest
Al: Nobody said it was easy. That's why we have this Support Group. Nevertheless it's not impossible and in fact necessary if one desires to live a long and healthy life. I heard this little ditty long ago and it's not bad to keep in mind when considering over-indulging: " A moment on the lips, forever on the hips " . The older generation of Okinawans have proven it is very possible to live a moderate life. When my blood pressure started climbing along with my weight, I decided that I would make the effort and choice to be a CRONIE. It was difficult but I wanted to avoid pain and suffering before my full alloted time. It's all about choices and admittedly easier for some to stick to than others. If it's too hard, that's an individual decision. (Lastly the CR Support Group is as much of a " main " CR group as any other - please consider and respect that when posting). on 8/2/2003 11:32 AM, old542000 at apater@... wrote: > Hi All, > > Please see below what I thought was an interesting and informed post > on the main CR mailing list that I thought you interested in also. > > Cheers, Al. Hi All, And I remember your response to: Date: Sun, 12 May 2002 14:06:49 -0230 From: " Alan Pater " <apater AT mun DOT ca> Subject: RE: [CR] A Beautiful CR Woman! and All, The proof is in the not pudding on. >(Lastly the CR Support Group is as much of a " main " CR group as any other - > please consider and respect that when posting). Yes, I agree, and I apologize for the misuse of the term. There is a different emphasis in the two groups, and both are highly efficient in communicating the important messages of CR. I my opinion, the greatest differences are in the electronic means of communication and the moderation of the etiquette of the postings. An unfortunate case in which this issue arose recently in the other CR group involved no more than differing views on the use of unorthodox language. Cheers, Al. Guest guest
Actually I have found it easy when I was madly infatuated or on some spiritual high after a good meditation group meeting. Or working on some REALLY exciting project with a new group of people. Of course, I'm not usually in love, working on somehting new and exciting with people or going to enough meditation meetings. Should try the latter at least.
Guest guest
Salutations! My Grandmother's version of your advice is a little longer: " One minute in the mouth, one hour in the stomach and carry it around on your hips for the rest of your life. " Unfortunately, I always ate too much of her pie crust and other 'goodies' for my own well being and didn't exercise enough; piano and French horn were much more exciting than taking a walk. My attempts to migrate to CR and stay on it have been terribly frustrating, but I did just come back from a two week vacation at the same weight as when I left. Maybe I've turned the corner.
