No sensation of hunger?

Has anyone hear gone through a period (of calorie restriction) where

they didn't feel hungry? What were the circumstances under which this

happened?

I experimented with CR for about 4 months to get a feel for it and I

felt hungry all the time. I kept looking for low calorie 'trick' foods

to induce satiety but to no avail. Then I went on vacation and

starting eating ad lib (only gained 1 pound, which isn't too bad)

again. Now, during the later part of my vacation and during this last

week I simply haven't felt very hungry. I'll eat if there's food and I

never get a completely 'full' sensation but when I'm not eating I've

stopped dreaming/thinking about food constantly. Here are some factors

I can identify:

1.) More sunlight?

2.) Less exercise although still quite a lot.

3.) Quite busy (though not really much more than when I was hungry)

4.) No longer uber-precise about my dietary ambitions. I used to count

calories meticulously (mainly to have an idea of where I was at) and

try to eat exactly the right amount of various foods everyday. Now I

just whatever's healthy in the fridge and don't worry about it.

Any thoughts? It would be great if this holds up. (And I'm pretty sure

I'm calorie restricted. I don't think I'm getting over 1500 calories a

day, recently... and my lack of hunger even held up during a one day

fast when I ate nothing of caloric value).
