Guest guest
I am very pleased to report that the results of Gillies blood tests are in. His thyroid TSH, TH3, TH4 were normal and the CBC panel results looked great. I guess we are on the right track with his diet. Guest guest
I am the first to admit that I should weigh a lot less than I do. I am 5'1 " and weigh about 230. My doctor tells me that I should loose weight. I tell him I I have tried...nothing seems to work...so he put me on a 1200 cal/day diet. I gained weight. ( I seem to average between 900-1000 cal per day but I don't really keep track. I do go through spurts where I get hooked on a certain food for a while. Lately it's been mushrooms. What I ate today is typical for me. breakfast 11 am 1 large apple and a 20 oz mug instant coffee (1/2 decaf 1/2 regular) and 1/2 cup 1%milk. lunch 1:30 pm 3 oz piece of breaded ocean perch cooked in microwave. Dinner 6pm 2 cups beef and veggie broth with mushrooms. A 6oz (raw weight) Yukon gold potato cooked in microwave then topped with sauerkraut (about 1/2 cup) and 2 tablespoons potato topping (cottage cheese and yogurt creamed together...tastes like sour cream) and a 5 oz stuffed pepper that my grandma made. I will have another 1/2 cup of milk with my tea tonight. that's it...is it CR? Probably would be for most, but not for me. I would have to go to 800 cal or lower and that gives me a constant low grade headache. What can I say...I'm fuel efficient. ) My body temp is always low also. I seem to average between 96 and 97 digrees. I took my temp just now and it was 96.48 Maybe that is why I don't burn many calories...I don't know. I will have another 1/2 cup of milk with my tea tonight. I would agree that while this intake is not CRON it also is very unhealthy & high in calories. I would also agree that an hour of exercise a day is in order. That said, I've done CRON and my hourly exercise for almost 2 years and lost almost nothing but my labs are quite healthy despite my underlying illnesses. I remain steadfastly at 220 and am told once my thyroid levels are level this will all pay off. Patience I am told. As for being unsteady on your feet, that could hypo-thyroidism and I would recommend seeing and talking to your doctor about that issue. When I was diagnosed with ht last winter I was told to be careful as my balance would be off. Nonsense said the old gymnast and ignored it only to fall heavily on ice at Christmas and have to get sewn up in ER. I am now careful & notice on cold days my muscles freeze up and have a tendency to tilt. Quite amusing actually to a passerby I would imagine. I'm glad to give someone some laughter in all this.
