Guest guest
Thanks for the tips, I will look at your message, Dont get me wrong, I am trying to get as much nutrients from my food as possible. Whole vegetables and fruits are good but there some nutrients that are hard to find(in significant amounts) for these food groups (e.g. niacin, calcium, vitamin D and Iron). About that 80% fullness. As far as I know that is an old japanese saying, I heard it many times before. It's like " eat an apple a day keep the doctors away " . I didn't think it was exclusive to OKINAWA, Its basically " Stomach 80% full " . I was never told how to measure 80% but I try to make sure that I can move immediately from my seat if I have to (although with a bit of difficulty). In the past I didnt realize where my stomach was in relation to my chest cavity, which meant I use to stuff food down when I felt a heavy fullness below my belly button. Now I try and eat so that I feel a fullness in my stomach, near/above my belly button. Although I generally try to look at the calorie/carbohydrate content of my food. High fat/protein food doesnt seem to give you enough " immediate " energy as High carbohydrate foods (especially when you need it most, i.e breakfast/lunch).
