Guest guest
Hi! I just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I am a 31-year-old female very interested in starting a CRON diet. I am the type of person who constantly worries about my health (always fear I have the "big C" at every ache and pain) and I know following a longevity diet would make me feel more secure about my health, and also the great side-effect of looking better - I'm currently about 150 pounds at 5'7.5", which is too heavy for me. My "set point" I believe is around 135, so I'm looking to hopefully end up weighing somewhere between 120-125, does that sound about right? I have the 120-year diet by Dr. Walford as well as the Anti-Aging plan. I'm reading them now. Are there any other books I should get? I remember seeing Dr. Walford YEARS ago on some TV program or magazine (or something?) and being intrigued, but up until now I've been a slave to my POOR eating habits! I'm ashamed to say I've been living on your typical "American" diet for my whole life, pretty much, which the exception of a few brief periods of eating "healthy".) I hope that I'm ready to really dedicate myself to the CRON way of eating. I'm sure the first few weeks will be especially difficult. I'm wondering if I should do some sort of fast first to kind of get on the right track and help 'clear my palate', so to speak? I will be scouring the archives during the next few days so that I don't ask tons of repeat questions, but I look forward to joining this community Jody
Guest guest
Jody: welcome to the group! Read the file " CR made Easy " for a " quick-start " . Starting off can be very easy; it's the long term staying on CRON that is the challenge - just like when people go on more conventional diets - it's keeping the weight off long term that's the challenge. As for set point, don't focus on that. You will lose weight when you cut out the junk and start eating healthier. Set point is hard to figure out and may or may not be what you think it is. CRON is not a weight loss diet (although most people do lose weight) but rather a way of becoming healthier and living longer. on 11/6/2003 3:34 PM, Jody Mack at jdmac@... wrote: > Hi!
