Local Southern Calif CRONie Gathering

Hello CR ALL:

I am thinking of having another Southern California

gathering soon for CR Folks. We have had 5 or 6 of

these get-togethers in the last few years, and they

have been successful and fun.

The location would be somewhere between Los Angeles

and San Diego. Irvine is a good possibility, since

it is convenient, friendly, and we have a number of

CRONies from that area. And Irvine is conveniently

located between Los Angeles and San Diego.

Activities at this meeting:

1) I have probably 200+ CRONie digital photographs

that could be shared if we displayed them on a

TV monitor at our gathering. These photos are

private, and come from past CRONie gatherings

in S. Calif. There are also digital photos

from both of the two CR Conferences we've held

(2001 -- Las Vegas, NV; and 2003 -- Madison, WI).

Conference photos alone number in excess of 100.

2) I am thinking of picking up 100 Lbs of this year's

crop of fresh organic in-the-shell walnuts. This is

two 50 Lb bags. That amount lasts about 1 year.

If others are interested in securing walnuts

(we can also get them fresh shelled if you wish

at less cost per pound of nut meat) tell me what

you might want. We can get full bags in the shell,

or partial bags too. I plan to purchase at wholesale,

and to incur no shipping charges except my own.

So the price should be reasonable. And we can also

first comparison shop locally or on the internet too.

Information will be available in early November.

Your input on which local walnut farm to purchase

from is desired.

3) We usually gather and eat at an inexpensive buffet

that runs $7 to $10. Eating is optional.

As always, we will take photos, and post a message

about our gathering to the List.

4) If others in the S. Calif area here have other

things to share, ideas about future CRONie events,

meeting date (like around Thanksgiving), meeting

location suggestions, etc, I will be the central

gathering point for trying to collect this data.

I will place all correspondence sent me into

one central file, and that one file (which will

include inquiries as well) will be shared with all

the other CRONies from S. Calif. Therefore,

anything you send me will be shared (including your

name and email address). This cuts down on my work

load immensely. Therefore, please don't email me

anything you don't want to share other local

S. Calif CRONies. I wish to avoid editing emails,

unless by special request.
