Excellent point! Ornish (who has reversed heart disease with diet, yoga and meditation) incorporates it as part of his regimen. Meditation seems to have all kinds of wonderful benefits as outlined in this article. As our resident Okinawan, Ed has stated, the Okinawans seem to live a stress- free, contented life which seems to have as much to do with their longevity as other factors.

In this link that you gave in another e-mail: http://www.biologyofhumanaging.com/Topics/CR_nt.htm

I noticed this comment under " Overall effects of DR " ( I assume DR means " dietary restriction " ):

CR works in a dose-dependent manner, so there does not seem to be a threshold needed to get beneficial effects, however, when CR is extreme, detrimental effects of undernutrition and malnutrition outweigh the benefits from the CR, so ML and LS are shortened

In view of this, and a recent posting by a CRONIE who has carried it to extremes and is now quite ill, I urge all to practise moderation (I know it's an old refrain, but it can't be stressed too often) especially if you have started in middle age. The older you are, the more moderate you should be.
