Hi Sammy: welcome to the group! Since you are probably relatively young,

and will stop nursing within the coming months, my best recommendation is to

eat as much as you want (but healthily) iow, ON but not CR, til you stop

nursing. You have the rest of your life ahead to do the CR part.

I would echo what Francesca said but it's probably more important what you

did for the last 9 months.

Things to avoid are high mercury fish, like swordfish, but even tuna should

not be eaten too often. Young children are more sensitive to toxins than we

are.

Subject: [ ] nursing mom wishing to do CR

hi im new here but did CR before getting pregnant and wish to

start up again. im nursing a 9 month old. are there any

experienced mommies out there that did CR while

breastfeeding? im sure this topic has been brought up before,

but im just wondering what peoples' experiences have been. ive

read in many places that increasing calories while nursing is

very exaggerated in this country. how low can i go while nursing?

i have a very sluggish metabolism as it is (maintain at

1000-1200 cals a day)

any info or experience would be greatly appreciated!

Bear with me, I just have to say here ;), that the WHO recommends

nursing for at LEAST the first two years, and longer if mutually

desireable. The longer you nurse the better, until the child weans

naturally (on their own).

Good for you for nursing, and IMO, you should focus on the " ON " part

of CRON for now, and then later, you can cut your calories. For me,

trying to start CRON, the CR is no problem, it's the " ON " part that

I'm struggling with. I still can't call myself a " CRONnie, " due to

that, but I love this list and love Walford's books.

Take care,

Jody
