Guest guest
At one time dolomite contained unacceptable levels of lead. I don't know if this is still the case, but you might want to have your powder analyzed. on 9/1/2003 7:07 PM, Hue at kargo_cult@... wrote: > It is hard to find dolomite powder locally. Guest guest
Just my .02 on oral hygiene for better health-use Waterpik with tongue cleaner attachment. This is less damaging to tissue of the tongue than brushing with a toothbrush. And you can use the same machine with interdental tip which is better than flossing. Guest guest
Francesca! Reviewing my June Smart Money mag I was surprised and delighted to find the feature about you. Fun to read exactly what you might eat in a day as well as a little of your story of how you came to Cron. I will save the article. I think extra care of the tongue is silly unless recommended by one's dentist. Tongues tend to be self-cleansing. I am married to a retired dentist. Vinegar is awfully hard on the teeth unless thoroughly rinsed out. Peg
Guest guest
Wouldn't a little swishing around in the mouth of an acidic/cleansing substance like lemon juice or vinegar do the same thing? Vinegar is useful for cleaning and sanitizing. Such rinsing would do away with any " brushing " which as you say could damage the delicate tissues of the tongue. on 9/2/2003 11:28 PM, Ron Corselli at rcors wrote: > Just my .02 on oral hygiene for better health-use Waterpik with > tongue cleaner attachment. Guest guest
Francesca-rinsing with any acidic solution would be extremely ill- advised, be it vinegar (acetic acid) or lemon juice (citric). This would create etching of the tooth enamel favoring an ideal environment for caries. Nothing as yet has taken the place of brushing. Brush and floss 2X/day just like the dentist says. Or better yet Brush and Waterpik 2X/day. Remember the studies on cardiovascular disease and the correlation with periodontal disease. I think the analogy to a dirty carpet, mostly works. You would have to swish around something strong enuff to remove layers from the tongue, i think. > on 9/2/2003 11:28 PM, Ron Corselli at rcors wrote: > > > Just my .02 on oral hygiene for better health-use Waterpik with > > tongue cleaner attachment. You have to brush pretty darn hard to damage the tongue, and experience some (minor) bleeding. However, healing in this area is fast, and any such cuts are soon healed. I honesty don't find this a problem, using the brush and certain abrasive toothpaste ( my own choice, the " Arm & Hammer " brand. ) (Every time i see one of their products i think of Armand Hammer - his parents certainly had a sense of humor.) So, that was my experiment. I haven't tossed the scraper yet, but this note reminds me to put it in the trash. Hue
