They say volunteers given capsules containing sage oil performed consistently better in memory tests. Nicola Tildesley, chief researcher on the project, says, " This proves how valuable the work by the old herbalists is, and that they shouldn't be ignored because they were writing centuries ago. Now I wonder if it's the right basil. Oh well, it keeps the bugs away and makes good pesto. Next year I'll try a diff sage if I can find the right seeds. You know you can buy basil seeds for eating in oriental markets. Grind them in a coffee grinder and add to stews. Maybe you could get the sage seeds and do the same? Doyou think the sage oil they used came from the seeds?
