Guest guest
Greetings Mark and big huge virtual hugs to you! I totally understand what you are going through. I came to the realization this past week that I have probably been ill my entire 40 years of life. Unlike some people of my generation, my mother did not breast feed me. I was given the latest new-fangled baby formulas which IMHO where no substitute for good nutrition I would have received from mother's milk. I honestly believe that this lack of early nutrition set me up for a life-time of immune system deficency. My childhood was full of illnesses, hospital visits, antibiotics.. my teen years were full of bad flu bouts, pnemonia, unexplained aches in my legs (what they now consider Restless Leg Syndrome) and migraines. In my twenties, I had two miscarriages, extreme bronchitis almost every winter, and still plagued by migraines. In my thirties came the depression, panic attacks, lingering migraines, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Shortly before I found out I was diabetic in my mid-30s, I started having horrible digestion problems. I could no longer digest meat of any kind, eggs occassionally made me ill, as did salmon. I was forced to go on a total vegetarian diet, which I honestly believe made my candida worse. I ate a low-fat diet because my doctor prescribed it when he diagnosed me with diabetes. I was eating well over 180 grams of carbs a day, approx 60 grams of protein a day, and only 25 grams of fat a day. I understand your despair. I understand the hopelessness you feel. Before I found Bee's group, there were days that I felt like I was going to die. I honestly believe that if I had not discovered Bee's diet, in a few years I would be dead. Candida has debilitated me to the point that I cannot go out in public without having panic attacks, my blood sugar levels were not responding to the medication my doctor had me on, the migraines and the depression were so severe that I contemplated suicide so many times, and the constant fatigue and brain fog forced me to stop working. Today is my 17th day on Bee's diet and I am already noticing a significant improvement on my health. I know this diet will work. I have proof of it. Yesterday, I was unable to eat the sufficient amount of fats, had too much protein and carbs because of a family gathering and my body reacted badly (even though I didn't eat foods that were no-nos on this diet). I had flu-like symptoms, fatigue, brain fog, and mild depression. I am still recovering from that today, but making sure that my diet is back in balance. I had to inform my inlaws that until I have recovered from this, family gatherings will not be wise for me. So dear Mark, don't give up. Fight this thing because your life DOES depend on it. Re-read Bee's diet information. Take it slow and work your way up to intergrating the entire diet into your life. Keep posting on here for support. You have nothing to lose by doing so, and your good health to gain. with Metta, ~Lori~ > > Hi all, I could really use a pep talk. I have had a candida infection for 5 years or more but it got serious 2 years ago when another bacteria invaded my digestive system and allowed the candida to take over. I have been blessed to have improved to the point where I can take care of my own daily needs again like making food and walking up stairs and now even driving! But I am still walking a fine line every day and sometimes my health dips and I get discouraged. I have been able to tolerate nothing but spring water, steamed brussel sprouts, steamed asparagus and organic Chicken and Trout for the past 2 years, 4 times a day. Any deviation from this causes my health to take 1 step forward then 2 steps back. I am on nystatin and probiotics like clockwork, and I cant live without them, literally. <snip> ==>Hi Mark. I see you just joined October 24th, therefore it is extremely important that you read my article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " thoroughly and carefully. You need to correct your diet so you are following my protocols, particularly eating enough good healthy nature-made fats and oils. I suggest you stop taking the nystatin and probiotics and start on my diet, calculating your ratios of proteins to fats to carbs per my article. See the 1st folder in our files (left menu) for both my article and Candida, How to Get Started. If you have difficulty with that, then do the 9-day program recommended in our Digestion Folder. Get back to use with any questions you have after you've read the recommended articles. The best in health, Bee P.S. I suggest you refrain from recommending things on this group until you've read my main article which forms the basis of my group. What you've been doing hasn't helped you so far, so you have nothing to lose by trying this program which has worked for so many people - see our Success Stories Folder. I am by no means new to my condition though. As it was, I could barely feed myself when I was at my worst and the probiotics are what helped to save my life. So for stopping a tested method for my personal health improvement, that is not going to happen. I have increased my fats in the past year, and found it to be very helpful. I will go over your files again, but you should also understand that every person will react different, and has differing levels of infection, as well as differing levels of sensitivities to any given method of treatment. Therefore no one route will work for everyone and no one treatment plan can be set in stone as " How to get better " . For instance as I branch out and try some of your suggestions, my body is still not able to tolerate them. I feel like I am going to live now and have a good life and that is a 1000% improvment from where I started from a few years ago fearing for my life on an hourly basis. So please dont suggest that people stop doing the something such as this that may have brought them back from such depths, it may be perceived as egotistical. I've hit a plateau and adjustments will be made. But asking for encouragment does not give an open door to tell me how to turn my life upside down. I have tried stopping and weening off probiotics, but my health just got worse again. I will continue to try your suggestions, and I will contiune use things that work, for me. Thanks, Mark
