Hi Bee -

I was just wondering if I am eating kimchi with every meal, does this eliminate

the need for

me to take hydrochloric acid enzymes all together? Also, does eating kimchi

affect the need

for a protease enzyme?

Thanks so much!

Hi Trish. It's good to hear from you. You do not necessarily need to

take HCl enzymes when you eat enough kimchi or sauerkraut with every

meal.

Protease breaks down protein, and it is produced by the pancreas which

there is enough stomach acid in the chyme coming out of the stomach

into the first part of the intestines (duodenum). Why do you ask

whether you need protease?

Thanks Bee! I am still plugging along, just trying to simplify my life some.

Is 1/2 cup with

each meal about right?

I guess because it something a naturopathic doctor had put me on a while back.

Since I

still battle with the digestive problems - just assumed I probably needed extra

help with

the protein. But, if I don't need it, I'd rather not take it! :)

==>Yes that would be enough, and even 1/2 to 1/3rd cup might suffice.

==>Trish, my diet helps your digestion, mainly because of the good

fats and minerals (ocean sea salt). Also protein and good fats are

the very easiest foods to digest compared to carbs. I think you'd

be okay without taking protease.
