Guest guest
Peg: I used to use " Earthsource Greens and More " by Solvay (I think). It too was very expensive. I stopped buying it. I feel that I can get just as good nutrition from a very good salad with lots of greens (and I've become an expert at salad making) and/or a nutritious drink like unsalted V-8 juice (actually I buy a generic version made by a local supermarket which is cheaper). Also much cheaper. My salads are not really delicious and often include some chopped nuts, raisins or dried cranberries (used sparingly). I do splurge on Annie's dressings (made with olive oil and no sugar) available at FF. I rationalize the high cost of the dressing by sometimes " stretching " it with added wine or balsamic vinegar. on 10/19/2003 10:09 AM, hsanborn2@... at hsanborn2@... wrote: > Does anyone use the powdered greens found in health food stores and at fairs? > I tried an expensive jar of " Barley Greens " at a craft fair. Peg Hi Peg: Here's an opinion. Take a look at the ingredient list. If it contains foods that are dense in non-calorie nutrients, and doesn't cost five times what the listed raw materials would cost, then it is likely OK. But does it contain any really healthy stuff you are not already eating? Probably not, if you are posting here : ^ ) And if it does, perhaps you should be eating the 'stuff' instead? fwiw Rodney
Guest guest
I've bought them, still have them, take them very irregularly. Mine have enzymes in them. I was curious to see if I would perceive any benefit from them. While the stuff is probably healthful, I didn't notice any effect at all. hsanborn2@... wrote: > Does anyone use the powdered greens found in health food stores and at > fairs? > I tried an expensive jar of " Barley Greens " at a craft fair.
