Guest guest
If ever I try CR, I think that might be the only way to achieve it. I suppose if you could work it into your lifestyle it might be the ideal solution. You get the health and lifespan benefits without feeling hunger, nor 'wasting' time with extraneous cooking and food preparing. I'm really curious behind the chemical basis behind all this. I suppose when in close contact with palatable food some chemical get's triggered and you hit a point of no return...or something. - > > Yeah, oddly enough (or not so oddly) the times when I truly do NOT > feel hungry --- is when I'm fasting! Guest guest
I too experience the same fasting-hunger characteristic that & Warren describe. I have guessed that this relates to some sort of blood-sugar or insulin reaction. Normally after eating, I have to wait out the hunger until I again get into the "fasting" state. Metformin has the reputation of lessening that hunger effect after eating. paultheo2000 wrote: I'm really curious behind the chemical basis behind all this. Guest guest
So true! After eating a meal... the hunger lingers on for a good hour (not the twenty minutes commonly alluded too). Only after 1-2 hours can I say 'I'm not hungry'. Till then I have to psych myself out of snacking. - > > > > > > Yeah, oddly enough (or not so oddly) the times when I truly do NOT > > > feel hungry --- is when I'm fasting! Like you too , I have no hunger when fasting. But after making the decision to eat, or after starting to eat, then I am hungry. -- Warren I think this is interesting! How much of our mind can control our bodies? You decided to fast, you were not hungry...you decide to be hungry and there you are. Thoughts perhaps, are really powerful! a

How much of our mind can control our bodies? *****They aren't two separate entities. There is only one thing: the mindbody complex. > Thoughts perhaps, are really powerful! *****You betcha! What do you think causes virtually all wars? Thoughts! And, to give them a fair " hearing, " it should be noted that thoughts have been scientifically demonstrated to heal. What do we know of the world, except our thoughts?
Guest guest
I won't speak for Warren, but I don't think it's the decision 'to be hungry' per se. It's that, in the presence of food, (especially after you've started eating) the hunger mechanism seems to get into action! - > In a message dated 10/9/03 3:56:10 AM Pacific Daylight Time, > writes: > > > Hello and CR ALL: > > > > Funny thing about hunger and fasting.
