Making 3 quarts at a time won't cut it anymore! ==>Yuppers Doug! My friend Sheila was the one who made me realize that 1 to 2 tbls of sauerkraut isn't enough. She said, in passing, " I did much better when I ate more sauerkraut, " i.e. 1/4 to 1/2 cup with every meal instead of 1-2 tbls. Then I realized why some people got turned off of taking sauerkraut to aid digestion, to balance out stomach acid levels in the stomach, etc. They were not eating enough of it! Lo and behold, eh? I'm hoping that eating more sauerkraut may eliminate the need for betaine hydrochloric acid supplements. If you are having both, would you like to experiment and let me know whether stopping the HCl supplements and eating enough sauerkraut is all that is required? Wouldn't that be terrific? Another supplement " bites the dust! " If I had my druthers we wouldn't need to take any supplements, just good foods! I consider cod liver oil as food. If we could buy fish livers like they used to sell years ago, we wouldn't need to pay so much for cod liver oil. But the price of fish livers could be expensive depending upon the supply and demand for it. Doug, to cut back on costs a little, and because there are two of you, I suggest you measure the amount of coconut oil each of you consume per day, so the maximum is 5.5 tbls each, not 6 tbls. It is cheaper to use lard for cooking. If you can get " good " bacon, saving the grease for cooking is very tasty too. Onward and upward!
