Guest guest
Warren: this is not a good idea. Avoid a whole food group at your own risk!!! This is an extremist point of view IMHO and if it comes from another list, then leave it there. on 12/8/2003 11:25 AM, Warren at warren.taylor@... wrote: > Minimize/avoid grains, legumes, tubers. Guest guest
What is extremism? Minimize/avoid means you choose your own level, but avoid making too high. I doesn't mean eliminate! I minimize/avoid legumes --> but still eat lentils, alfalfa, and others. I minimize/avoid dairy --> but still eat yogurt, whey, and others. I minimize/avoid grains --> but still eat hulled barley, sprouts, and others. I minimize/avoid tubers -- but still eat carrots, beets, turnips, and others. Who are the extremists? We CRONies must all cut calories from somewhere! We must all decide just where we are going to cut them. Telling others where we decided to cut is called " honesty " and " sharing " , not extremism. We are simply saying where we choose to cut back in the high calorie food areas that have less nutrition per calorie. We are NOT eliminating any food category. Those who discover " extremism " in others are the blessed saintly vigilantes to whom society hearkens in the news media. These loving critics are the protective judges who highlight the dangerous extremist viewpoints needed to make an alluring news story. These gentle mindful critics are the heroes and guardians of the common good. One well-known CR personality recently commented this way: " There is no such thing as bad news about CR " . The media moguls are well aware that the general public hungers for news about " extremist " lifestyles pursued by optimists with " high hopes " . Without that enticing news focus, there would be little news about CR, and the public fascination with CR would wither. Our CRONie news stories serve the public interest, because --> it highlights CR (good!) --> it warns the public about extremist/faddist choices (good!) --> it makes life interesting (good!) --> and there might be some great truth here (good!) I confess I am rather extreme in some food choices. I tend to cut some things very close to zero: refined sugars, pork and ham, alcohol, pastries, hydrogenated oils, fried foods, etc. However, even in these areas, I will indulge on occasion. I'm not such a terrible ultra-extremist after all. Horrors! -- Warren ============================ =================== On 08 Dec 2003, Francesca wrote: > > Warren: this is not a good idea.
