Toxicity and Caloric Poisoning

The words " toxic " and " detox " can be used in various ways.

Excess calories and excess weight cause cellular congestion,

and caloric poisoning, which is body toxic. Futile cycling

of the cellular mitochondria to burn excess calories is toxic,

creating reactive oxygen species (ROS) and excess free radicals.

See Caloric Poisoning:

Excess metabolic cellular debris is toxic, resulting in

protein misfolding, DNA transcription errors, and in the

worst case scenario, a body cancer due to defective cell

nuclear genetics. CR Mice are strongly resistant to cancer.

Walford and other authors also use the concept of detox

to discuss negative reactions that occur due to healthful

quick changes to weight and diet. Even the intake of

excess fiber (from too many veggies) can cause gastric

distress, bloating, constipation, diarrhea, flatulence,

and chronic indigestion. These are classic reactions.

More fiber is healthy, but an unhealthy response occurs.

For us CRONies here, let's think of toxicity more in the sense

of caloric poisoning and the chronic degenerative diseases

of aging related to the symptoms of caloric poisoning:

Oh, quick question. If names and identities are omitted

from messages, is it OK to cross-post emails on this list

to another list? I do not want to be guilty of breach of

netiquette by improperly cross-posting to another list.

Other news lists, including the largest collection of

news lists in the world -- the Usenet News Groups,

which preceded the Internet and that are still very

active today (and archived on Google) -- are extensively

cross-reference and cross-posted. This happens because

message content is important and of great value to share.

Much of the Usenet News content is posted on many internet

sites now, all around the world, and in HTML format.

The old Usenet News Groups historically marked the

birth phases of the internet, when it was the original

US Dept of Defense ARPANET.

My CRONie writings (to include CRONie poems I wrote) have

been cross-posted in this way on internet and elsewhere.

They even appear in print, in The Hopkins Magazine.

So reputable sources extract liberally and then publish,

cross-post, and quote in public places such as email

lists, internet websites, the journals, and newspapers.

This free global dissemination of intellectual content

underpins the value of the internet. Propagation of

popular stereotypical themes (known as " memes " ) permeates

our culture now. Blogs, wikiwebs, and RSS news feeds are

the latest electronic incarnations. A message repeated

elsewhere is a token recognition of value.

Information longs to be free.

Hi Warren:

I am not a lawyer, but I would have thought that instead of being in

violation of netiquette, you would, instead, (or perhaps as well) be

in violation of copyright laws.

I may me mistaken, but I don't think so. Is there a lawyer in the

house?

Rodney.
