One member also said he never had money to buy the organic stuff but still healed. I think it is more important to get all the ratios and take all the supplements, than concern yourself with the organic vs. non-organic part. Obviously, if organic is available it is preferred. >*i don't think the non-organic swiss meats is as 'bad' as the non- >organic american meats.. >-drink decaf coffee (non-organic) The decaf part is ok but it should be swiss water process decaf. Also, coffee plants are among the most heavily sprayed plants in the world (to my knowledge) so you are getting a lot of pesticides there. And if it's not swiss water process then you are getting a lot of chemicals from the decaffeination process. >-smoke cigarettes (pure tobacco, additive free american spirit >cigarettes) I guess you know the answer to this one but it sounds like you are working on getting there. That's all you can do in my opinion. The faster you get off the cigarettes the better, but even Mercola suggests doing one thing at a time. >while i know i could (and will eventually) stop drinking my cup of >decaf coffee a day, and smoking cigarettes - getting some opinions on >these would help me put things in perspective. other than this, i am >on the diet 100%, lots of meats and fats and some vegetables, all the >supplements, and herbal teas (ginger, mint, pau d'arco) the rest of >the day. >Thanks in advance for any feedback. >Sara a
Guest guest
Hi Sara, your habits are not all that bad! The tuna sounds ok and the salt, though not sea salt, should be fine. Large amounts of salt is said to be bad by mainstream nutition, but we all know how misinformed main stream nutitrion is. You would be better off trying to find one with sea salt, but it shouldn't hurt you if you get good sea salt from other sources. Organic meats are better, but you will still improve if you don't eat organic meats. So you are ok there too For coffee, decaf is usually decaffeinated with harmful chemicals. Try to see if you can find a swiss water decaf version, and then taht too should not be too much of an issue. And as for your smoking, Bee has talked about that one too (search the old posts if you are curious). Its admirable that you want to stop. I stopped smoking myself, but please know that smoking will not stop progress on the diet. Just keep on the diet. You will improve, even with all your " bad habits " since they really aren't as bad as I think you might have thought. This is the only kind of tuna i have found that best meets the diet in switzerland but the salt levels concern me.. eat non-organic chicken/beef/pork. Idon't think the non-organic swiss meats is as 'bad' as the non- organic american meats.. drink decaf coffee (non-organic) smoke cigarettes (pure tobacco, additive free american spirit cigarettes)

It is OK to eat and if it's the only kind you can find that's on the diet, I'd say go ahead. > -eat non-organic chicken/beef/pork > > *i don't think the non-organic swiss meats is as 'bad' as the non- > organic american meats.. > Again, it's perfectly OK. I've eaten very little organic meat because it's very expensive around here and I can't afford it. Eat what you can find and what you can afford. > -drink decaf coffee (non-organic) > The Swiss process decaf is the only type Bee recommends. I'd assume you can find that easily? > -smoke cigarettes (pure tobacco, additive free american spirit > cigarettes) > I smoke a pipe or a cigar once in a while. I never noticed any bad effects from it while I was fighting with candida. The usual regular caveats about smoking apply, but I don't think it's the worst thing you could do regarding getting rid of candida. > while i know i could (and will eventually) stop drinking my cup of > decaf coffee a day, and smoking cigarettes - getting some opinions on > these would help me put things in perspective. other than this, i am > on the diet 100%, lots of meats and fats and some vegetables, all the > supplements, and herbal teas (ginger, mint, pau d'arco) the rest of > the day. > > Thanks in advance for any feedback. > > Sara > Zack

There is also tons of false information about the dangers of smoking. Do a search of our message archives for messages I've written about smoking in the past. > > while i know i could (and will eventually) stop drinking my cup of > decaf coffee a day, and smoking cigarettes - getting some opinions on these would help me put things in perspective. other than this, i am on the diet 100%, lots of meats and fats and some vegetables, all the supplements, and herbal teas (ginger, mint, pau d'arco) the rest of the day. ==>That's great Sara. You are well on your way! Bee
Guest guest
Thanks everyone for your feedback! Better to ask then to figure out the hard way that habits are bad.... Re: Swiss processed coffee, to be honest - no one in switzerland knows what that means. Ok, that might be an exaggeration, but i certainly haven't been able to find any swiss processed coffee in any grocery store or health food store. I don't know why this is.. maybe all processed coffee in switzerland is swiss processed coffee, or maybe it's just a fancy name that has no easy translation in french. I'll ask at a coffee store when i have the chance and report back to you, surely someone here must know. Re: smoking, i know it's not the worst thing you can do for candida, but what about the link between smoking and adrenal problems? i.e. as a stimulant? I have a lot of adrenal dysfunction, and do feel that the nicotine is contributing to these symptoms. In any case, thanks again for your feedback. much appreciated!!!
