Guest guest
I grate my cabbage, it is quick and easy. I have never seen brown spots in my rejuvelac. Try washing the jar with boiling water to sterilize and also wash the cabbage well. Try to keep everything very clean. Rejuvelac has a peculiar smell, i did not like it much first time, but got used to it, the drink is very tasty and refreshing, to my mind Good luck! Guest guest
thanks so much for your reply. i used boiling water to clean the jars and lids, but feel I probably did not clean the cabbage adequately. will give it another go and might use the grater this time. cheers, bridget --- Ivanda <jane_latvia@...> wrote: > I grate my cabbage, it is quick and easy. You get enough iodine on this program and the body only requires " trace amounts " . Too much iodine is just as damaging to the thyroid as too little. That's how I lost my thryoid 20 years ago; I overdosed on Lugol's and also took dessicated thyroid (per my doctor of course), but little did I know at the time the damage that was being done. > > I'm wondering whether you would recommend I start over... ==>Yes, start over. You'll have better success using certified organic cabbage, and also make sure you use non-chlorinated water (boiling it for 30 minutes removed the chlorine). Also ensure it isn't too hot or too cold in the area. > > If I were to start over, can you tell me, would it be okay to juice the cabbage since I don't > have a blender? If not, I'll continue to chop the cabbage into the smallest peices I can. ==>No, do not juice the cabbage; just chop it like the recipe for making it without a blender.
