Guest guest
kara BAD... really bad.. it is like taking sugar. STOP using it. (you already know that :-) !! ) I really HATE that these manufactures have started adding this in, it is rediculous actually. in the UK On Jan 27, 2008 11:51 PM, tazfanalways <tazfanalways@...> wrote: > AAGAGGHHHH! > > I just took some probio powder to start treatment for constipation and > realized it is sweet tasting! Guest guest
As long as you don't use it any more, you probably didnt do too much damage. Kind of like one bad cheat. Guest guest
Hi , No, you should NOT use that probiotic with FOS in it - it's sugar! Instead, you could put a clove of garlic in your vagina. Take a needle and thread a string through the hard end of the garlic so you can get it out later. Change it about once every 12 hours or so. Bee also has other remedies you could try. http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/women6.php Remember, though, that the healing will come from within. These are just symptom relievers. All the best, (a group moderator) > > I was looking for an Acidophilus capsule to insert for a yeast infection. Every brand at the health food store seems to have maltodextrin. The one I bought has FOS (Fructo-Oligosaccharides) I looked this up and this too is a sugar from artichoke. SHOULD I NOT USE THIS? I just dont know why they would add a sugar to a probiotic if we are trying to kill the yeast? Also the probiotic is 300 billion per capsule. Is that safe to insert down there? >
Guest guest
> > Thank you. Do I peel the hard skin off first? On bees site - she says to use 'crushed' garlic? I'm a little hesitant because of any remnants that may be left in there, but the thread idea makes sense. > Hi , You do peel the skin off but leave the little " root " end intact. You'll push the threaded needle through right above that little root because the garlic clove is the sturdiest there. Some websites say not to " nick " or crush the clove as the juice can feel like it burns as you insert the garlic. Some say to cut it in order to begin to release the juice. I've never tried using garlic this way but there are many references to its effectiveness on the internet. Jackie (group moderator)

Guest guest
Bee, I have been on this diet for 5 months. I STILL have my symptoms - bad thrush, slight yeast infection, tired, etc. My mood and energy have improved a little. I am only taking some vitamins because my income has been unstable. (That in itself is a big stress) and just had a talk with my partner about how this candida is putting a strain our relationship and intimacy (another big stress) I just want to go away and hide til this thing gets better. I just feel so gross! and like I cant keep up and worried since i cant afford supplements and all organic food I will never heal. A bit discouraged today
Guest guest
Is it true that all forms of probiotics (capsule, powder, etc) are annihilated by stomach acid, making them useless? > > > > Hi : > > > > > Now I am wondering about the probiotics I've been taking for months and months now and if thats why im not getting better > > > > *** Bee no longer recommends probiotics, so you should stop taking them and just stick with the diet and supplements. > > Best, > Marissa (a group moderator) >
Guest guest
> > Is it true that all forms of probiotics (capsule, powder, etc) are annihilated by stomach acid, making them useless? +++Hi Luke. I've been researching this for over 3 months, and I've discovered that any probiotics or prebiotics, like FOS, taken by mouth don't survive the digestive system to reach the large intestine where they are " supposedly " needed. The digestive system from mouth to large intestines doesn't use such bacteria to digest. FOS is a sugar which gets digested in the small intestines like any other carbs/sugars, and the small intestines is 23-25 feet long. Probiotics are made up of protein, carbs and fats so they get digested like any other foods, long before they could get to the large intestines. Guest guest
Four years ago I and a partner did some experiments with a pure food grade FOS. I had obtained a 50 pound bag of the product, which was manufactured in the U.S.A., directly from the manufacturer. For about two (possibly three, memory is fading and although I have notes the length of time is not important here) we took a dose of FOS each night just before bed. Background: Partner - Candida overgrowth and dysbiosis, I - Organic Acid panels showed various biotic mal conditions, no GI symptoms, diagnosed two years ago with a rare disorder WM. Partner then general health - significant chronic fatigue My general health then - depression, fatigue, neurological issues Dose protocol Partner - enema I - oral 1 to 2 teaspoons FOS dissolved in approximately 8 oz water Observations, within 15 minutes of dosing Partner - persistent burping I - persistent flatulence in both cases these presentations would last from 5 to over 20 minutes. Health improvements observed - None There's a side bar to our experiments. One day I decided to swallow a tablespoon of the FOS undissolved and with just enough water (less than 2 oz.) to wash it down. Within 15 minutes I was in agony on the floor. I first felt a massive cramp in the abdominal region. After about half an hour on the floor, I managed to crawl to the toilet, and there I remained for much of the day. Also, for the last two years I've been cultivating (more like they grow like weeds) Jerusalem artichokes (high in inulin) in my organic garden. Very nice vegetable; must get the cooking just right - too much and their mush, too little and it's flatulence for the rest of the night. Correct me if I am wrong; 1) isn't flatulence a sign of incomplete food breakdown before reaching the large intestine, and 2) wasn't/isn't one of selling points of FOS that it is a low calorie (meaning that it is not broken down and absorbed) substitute for sugar? > > > > Is it true that all forms of probiotics (capsule, powder, etc) are annihilated by stomach acid, making them useless? > > +++Hi Luke. Guest guest
Hi Luke, You are very welcome! I agree that the supplement industry and also alternative health are just businesses, out to make money. As I've said before, alternative health practitioners use supplements like drug companies use drugs, which are often detrimental since they interfere with proper nutrition and cause imbalances. Did you know that most supplements are produced by drug companies? I would prefer not to take any supplements of any kind. Cheers, Bee > > Thank you for the feedback! > This is groundbreaking right here. > yes It seems the more one dives into health > we can see that all or majority of supplements is > just another industry.
