Re: Concentrace was: Minerals for RO Water

I am not sure if it makes a real difference but Concentrace is from the

Great Salt Lake. I recently read that the Great Salt Lake is very polluted

with mercury. So I emailed the people at Trace minerals to ask them about

mercury in Concentrace and got no response. I have gotten a response from

them in the past. I should probably try again.

Gee I wonder if Bee knows this as she recommends Cincentrace. Maybe

the way it is processed cleans it up? Let us know what you find out

Irene. I would be VERY curious to know since I have been using it

for two years while on Bee's program.

Thanks!

Hello Irene and all,

You've got my curiosty up now. I have been looking around to see what I

could find out about Concentrace and possible mercury contamination

since it comes from the Great Lakes. All reports so far seem to be good

but it doesn't hurt to keep exploring to make sure.

I don't know how they do it but one article I have found says

ConcenTrace is " purified " concentrated water from the Great Salt Lake,

with most of the sodium removed. It has virtually all the known trace

and rare earth minerals available in one product. I would like to think,

since they are interested in helping to provide healthy minerals for our

bodies, that they certainly wouldn't allow any mercury to be in their

product. However it doesn't hurt to investigate this further.

By the way, Liquid Ionic Trace Minerals and ConcenTrace are the same

product sold by two different companies under different names. Liquid

Ionic Trace Minerals " available from Marine Minerals, Monroe, Utah

84754, 1-800-955-7772, www.marineminerals.com and " ConcenTrace " from

Mineral Resources International , 1990 West 3300 South, Ogden, Utah

84401, 801-731-7040, www.traceminerals.com .

One article says if using RO (reverse osmosis) water, re-mineralizing is

important: the simplest way is to add NO more than 1â„2 teaspoon

or 2.5 ml of Concentrace Minerals from Utah's great lake per 19

Litres or 5 gallons. I would like to explore this further, because I

have been using 1 1/2 teaspoons per 5 gallons, as it states on the label

to use 20 drops (1/4 teaspoon) to 40 drops (1/2 teaspoon) per gallon.

I also found this interesting, one article mentioned putting Concentrace

in a small spray bottle and spraying it on your food before eating. I

don't know about that, because I have tasted Concentrace full strength

and yuk! I think it is much better when it is diluted. :-)

Hope this helps!

I hope you are right. I would feel better if they responded and said that.

I will send another email when I get the chance. Perhaps the last one got lost.

Me too Irene.

We will see what Bee has to say too. She knows best.

She may have the answer for us already. :-)

==>No, ConcenTrace Liquid Ionic Minerals do not contain any

contaminates like mercury!!! Sally Fallon at Weston A. Price

recommends them too. Would I recommend something that is bad for you?

This is something you need to email to me offlist so members do not get

alarmed.

==>Would I recommend something that is bad for you Debra? I wrote to

the company over 3 years ago and confirmed it doesn't have contaminates

or mercury. ALSO Sally Fallon, WAPF, recommends it. Her book

Nourishing Traditions lists it under products recommended in the back

of her book.

Wow. I am relieved. I am glad that they confirmed that. I was a little

worried when I wrote to them last October and got no response.

The Friends of Great Salt Lake report came out well after Sally's book was

published so she wouldn't have known about it then.

Thanks Bee,

Irene

Sorry. It didn't occur to me to do this offlist. I will know better next time.

==>The Friends of Great Salt Lake do not produce ConcenTrace Minerals.

I'm sure a U.S. supplement company would not be allowed to put a

contaminated product on the market. The FDA and other watchdogs would

be on them like a chicken on a June bug!
