You will do better if you eliminate foods not on the diet list, i.e. potatoes, rather than being concerned about getting local and seasonal products. Even though other countries' " certified organic " standards are not as high as they are in the U.S. or Canada, they do carry the 5 digit sticker starting with 9, and they are very safe to eat. By the way the use of the word " organic " is not as regulated as " certified organic. " I buy " certified organic " only, at the health store or farmer's market in my City.
