Guest guest
Doubtful that the winter sun would cause skin cancer. It is very weak which is one of the problems with getting enough in the winter months. One dilemna that Kim might have is that she has Lupus as well as RA. Doctors used to tell Lupus sufferers to stay out of the sun. Although it help with the RA sunlight is bad for Lupus. on 1/13/2004 3:21 PM, Dowling at dowlic@... wrote: > One problem with sunlight may be that (I think I have read this before) one > can not get enough Vit. Guest guest
It doesn't take much sunlight to get the vit D. I like it because it's the "right" kind but I still take a supp. Many indoors, high latitudes may need it also. That doesn't mean it gets absorbed and used. PTH. Some vit D supps are better (diff form), but I think they're all prescription. Need to monitor serum Ca to prevent stone formation. Curiously there is no mention ofthe fact that one of the best sources of Vit D is from sunlight. Thefindings may help explain why the two autoimmune diseasesare more common in northern climes, where sunlight is often scarce, theresearchers said.
