Guest guest
Below is a CRON startup program that reflects features of how I started up my own CRON diet. Feel free to comment and critique the plan, to make it better. Using BMI software, choose my ideal bodyweight (based on a target BMI of 18.5). Then find out how many target calories are needed to support that ideal body weight, based on my planned activity level, my gender, and my age. This is easy, and I have posted messages in the past on how to do this. Then based on those target BMI calories, create a meal plan to put through Dr. Walford's DWIDP nutrition software, which gave me the best nutrition possible. That took some thinking, because I had to make food choices and meal prep decisions, and there are a lot of foods and choices available. For nutrition, I first and foremost covered the essential macro-nutrients: the essential amino acids (proteins) and the essential fats. Then I added low calorie veggies to fill in the rest of my calories. These supplied the remaining essential micro-nutrients and also gave plenty of carbs besides. So I had my essential known macro-nutrients (carbs, protein, fats) guaranteed, and I had my essential known micro-nutrients (vitamins, minerals, fiber, sunshine, etc) all guaranteed. (1) My calories were restricted correctly for my target BMI (2) My nutrition was optimized for health. I was on CRON! Not a CRONie yet, but on my way. There was nothing left to do, except to be patient while I very gradually lost weight over about 2 years time. The hardest part of CRON for me was this: Figuring out how to overcome my bad eating habits and bingeing violations. This came gradually with much trial and error (denial and terror). That battle was the hardest part. I learned a lot about myself. That personal learning process is one of the most valuable benefits of doing CRON. I continue to make many new friends. I continue to find the self-discovery process of learning to do CRON better and more easily to be fascinating. I gain new knowledge. I learn how the human mind thinks. I learn how to think better. I learn to operate my body better. -- Warren ========================== On 18 Dec 2003, Kim wrote: > > Hi Dennis, Maybe I am not a good example, but I have lost about 82 lbs > since late March, early April. At my age, this may be maintenance calories for me. I am 47.
