Guest guest
Kim; Congratulations on your wonderful achievement and welcome to the group. We are not affliated in any way with any other groups. And yes, we advocate moderation (or at least most of us do). Thanks to whoever told you about us. You are wise to be cautious. You don't say how old you are but CR should be more moderate in the older members among us (and that means me!). Also besides the obvious very detrimental side effects which have sometimes been noted in extremists (osteoporosis, anemia, anorexia, bulemia) - one has to contend with very little flesh on the tush making sitting uncomfortable, loss of libido, feeling cold, concentration camp appearance, to name a few. Some of us are concerned about the extremists. If illness does strick, there aren't much body fat reserves (if any) to fall back on. Also many are omitting whole food groups such as grains and legumes to maintain their thinness. Personally, I just don't like the sound of that. But that's a personal opinion. See our very useful files for lots of good info. on 12/16/2003 1:10 PM, kimlynette@... at kimlynette@... wrote: > Hi, I am new to this list. Guest guest
Welcome to the group, Kim. A number of us participate in both groups (CRS, Support). The Support Group is definitely more mainstream, as most of us have discovered. In fact, Dr. Al Pater, who is having the cachexia (low body weight) problems started here on the Support List, and migrated to CRS. He has since developed some health problems which were already manifest prior to his interest in CR. A number of us do participate on both Lists, and you are very welcome to participate too! -- Warren On 16 Dec 2003, Kimlynette@... wrote: > > Hi, I am new to this list.
