Guest guest
I am 5 ft 5 inches tall which calculates out to the following..... Protein - 63 Grams Fat - 158-220 Grams Carbs - 50 Grams I am not having too much problems with protein and carb intake but still having a hard time getting enough fats. I do drink the egg drink every morning. Any more ideas on how to get down more fats? Betty
Guest guest
The fake cream will help, I'll send you the recipe. Also Bee recommends smothering butter on all your veggies. Don't forget to add your cod liver oil into the total fats, and also oils in mayo or salad dressing. Drizzle lots of butter over meats & veggies. Try coconut oil in (some) teas. Eat fattier meats like pork and bacon (from a good non-treated source). Make bone broths and don't skim the fat, i.e. chicken, beef or pork. Guest guest
Oh man I can't wait to get some great tasting bone broth made. I love broth soups so very much!!! I will do a search. I was eating baked potatoes with lots of butter (I know I shouldn't be eating potatoes). What teas taste the best with coconut oil in them? I have upped my Coconut Oil intake in the egg drink to 3 tablespoons with 2 tablespoons of butter. Guest guest
> > I have recently begun using FitDay as I am progressing in the diet. I am only up to between 2 and 3 tablespoons of CO at this point but what happens when I hit the 5.5 tablespoon mark? That will equal 74.8 grams of fat each day and I am only allowed 68 grams a day. Plus my two tablespoons of CLO come to 27.2 grams of fat a day which would bring me to 102 grams of fat a day. Am I doing something wrong in my calculations? I seem to remember reading that we are supposed to count both CLO and CO in our daily fat grams. Thanks for your help. > Darlene > Hi Darlene It is impossible to need only 74.8 grams of fat each day since the ratio is 2.5 - 3.5 grams of fat for every kilo that you should weight. read this The ideal proportion between the main food components of protein, fat and carbohydrates should be in the range of: m m 1 : 2.5 - 3.5 : 0.8 In order to work out the correct daily food intake using this proportion, one has to know how many grams of protein needs to be ingested in a day to satisfy body's requirements. This amount varies from person to person and depends on a " due body weight " . Due body weight, in kilograms, is equal to person's height in centimetres less 100 (± 10%). Thus, for a person 160 cm tall, a due body weight is 60 kg ± 6 kg. A correct amount of protein to be consumed in a day is approx. 1 g per 1 kilogram of a due body weight. Thus, a 60 kg person needs to consume 60 ± 6 g of protein to satisfy body's daily needs. Any excess of protein, above the daily requirement, is converted by the body to fat, provided energy requirements are met by other components. Having worked out the amount of protein, one can then calculate the amount of other components in a daily menu. Thus, for our typical 60 kg person, the consumption of 60 g of protein has to be accompanied by between 150 to 210 g of fat, and 30 to 50 g of carbohydrate in order to follow the principles of the Optimal Diet.
