Guest guest
Hi there, I went grocery shopping last night. Bought all the veggies I was allowed to according to the diet. Bought fish and eggs. Am prepared to eat those. Assaulted my candida yesterday with garlic tea etc (had day off work yesterday cause of thrush). Had a throbbing headache all day yesterday. Thrush much better today (it is day 5 anyway) and I had a chocolate easter egg for breakfast! I will find no sugar INCREDIBLY hard. I have contacted a well known veg. dietitian here in Australia and she is positive I can beat candida whilst remaining a vegetarian. I will have a consultation with her after Easter. Have done PLENTY of thinking and reading. From my understanding of candida, the key is a very strong immune system. Am I correct? I have had in the past a healthy immune system with no meat and I believe I can regain it with the help of supplements for a while. I am always interested in food and nutrition and from the few digests I have read, this is an interesting and dynamic group. I am going to take certain things on while remaining faithful to my beilefs. The thing is, practicing non-harm to others is essentially practicing non-harm to ourselves. It's inter-connected. Thanks to everyone who contributed to my original post, it has really stimulated my mind. .

Giving up sugar wasn't as hard as I'd thought because by the time I found Bee's diet, my digestion had completly failed. I couldn't eat anything. I'm so glad you're starting now. All success to you ! Guest guest
Hi , I was a near vegeterian when I started the diet. I understand you. I had similar arguments. I also don't like the taste of meat and prefer vegetables. I tried eating beef but now I only eat chicken, fish and the occasional mutton. I wonder whether you sprout your grains? This is one way to increase nutritional levels while keeping carbs low as when seeds or grains are sprouted they change chemically. Bee has also confirmed that this is allowed. I do it all the time. I sprout rice, quionoa, buckwheat, lentils, pumpkins seeds, alfalfa, you name it and it works and is very tasty and fun. We also don't need so much protein. My quota is 62. You seem to have a sensible approach. For sugar cravings take vitamin C every two hours or so (until bowel tolerance). It worked for me. When you get desparate for chocolate go for 99 per cent dark chocolate (Belgium is the home of chocolate so we get good ones here)(you could always sprinkle a little Stevia on it but eventually you will love the dark taste). Ch does not have to much caffeine and contains magnesium. You will lose the cravings as you progress in the programme. Please keep us up to date with your grogress. Good luck! Someone correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that dark chocolate isn't okay on this plan. When I looked up the 99% dark chocolate it lists 2 gr.of sugar per serving. It would be nice to be proven wrong on this one...but I'm thinking it's unlikely. Anita
Guest guest
You are correct as far as I know. No chocolate. > > Someone correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding is that dark > chocolate isn't okay on this plan. When I looked up the 99% dark > chocolate it lists 2 gr.of sugar per serving. Chocolate is not allowed. Not only does it contain caffeine but also it is almost impossible to eat 99% chocolate without sugar, and it is also made in such as way that it contains mycotoxins (fungi-type toxins).
